Abstract
Objective To learn the weight status before pregnancy of pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM),and to evaluate the weight gain of pregnant women with GDM during pregnancy and explore the influence factor of newborn birth weight,in order to providing meaningful references for the diagnosis and treatment of GDM.Methods Fifty-nine cases of pregnant women with GDM diagnosed in The Second People's Hospital of Guangzhou from January 2008 to October 2008 and treated with alimentary control were reviewed,including pre-pregnancy weight,height,weight at the time of GDM diagnosed and before delivery,newborn's birth weight.At the same time,52 cases of pregnant women(regular checking or normal pregnancy in the same hospital and in the same period)were selected as controls,and the pre-pregnancy weight,height,weight at the time of 30 weeks of pregnancy and before delivery,newborn's birth weight were reviewed.Results The pre-pregnancy body mass index(BMI)and before delivery BMI of pregnant women with GDM increased with the newborn birth weight,but the pre-pregnancy BMI and before delivery BMI had no relationship with the total weight gain during pregnancy,weight gain before and after diagnose.Conclusion A reasonable diet,to lower pre-pregnancy obesity and(or)excessive weight gain during pregnancy for pregnant women with GDM will help to reduce the incidence of macrosomia.
