Abstract

LI Bai's image of sword is of the most high frequencies in the poems of ancient Chinese poets,accounting for one tenth of images in his own poems.The sword becomes the symbol of hero.So LI Bai created many heroic figures with errantry by using his vivid image of sword.And he often used sword as the symbol of the martial arts to build his self-image as a civil and military talent.Comparing himself to the male sword,LI Bai expressed his strong desire to make great contributions to the country.The image of sword in LI Bai's poems is not only of rich historical and cultural heritages,but also of his unique original individual character.
