Abstract
The 2-hydroxy-4-sulfamylbenzen-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-triazene(HSNPT)has been synthesized. The color reaction of HSNPT with nickel was investigated. At the presence of the surface active agent Triton X-100 and in a Na 2B 4O 7-NaOH medium of pH 10.0~12.0,HSNPT with Ni(Ⅱ)forms a yellow complex. The molar absorbtivity of the complex is e =1.18×10 5 L·mol -1 ·cm -1 at the determination wavelength of 540 nm.The molar ratio of Ni(Ⅱ) to HSNPT is 1∶3.The Beer's law is well obeyed in the rang of 0~480 μg/L for nickel at the determination wavelength. This method has been applied to determine trace amounts of nickel in steels with satisfatory result.
