The bee toxin-bee venom hemolytic peptide pharmacological research progress

The bee venom hemolytic peptide which is also called melittin,is the major component of bee venom.Melittin has highly pharmacological and biological activities.This article systematically summarizes melittin's molecular structure and property,its antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,anti-radiation,antitumor,anti-HIV and other aspects in the current research of its pharmacological effect and mechanism.It also illuminates the application and prospect of melittin briefly.This article provides some useful theoretical basis for comprehensive and deep-going research melittin in the future.
