The Impact of Rehabilitation Nursing on Mental Status and Quality of Life in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure

Objective:To assess the impact of rehabilitation nursing on patients' mental status and quality of life.Methods:100 patients were randomly assigned to rehabilitation nursing group and control group.All the patients received conventional drug therapy and nursing care.But patients in rehabilitation group received additional health education,Psychological counseling,diet training,and sports training.To measure the patients' mental status and quality of life,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Minnesota Livingwith Heart Failure Questionnaire(LiHFe)were used when patients on admission and after they discharged three months.Results:There was no significant difference in scores of SAS,SDS and life quality between both groups before intervention.After intervention,however,the rehabilitation nursing group's scores of SAS,SDS and life quality score were higher when compared with the control group(P0.05).Conclusion:Rehabilitation nursing care can decrease the chronic heart failure patients' anxiety and depression,increase their compliance to treatment,and meanwhile,improve their life quality.
