Abstract
Based on literature review on human capital and economic growth,the paper calculates stock of human capital and material capital stock in our country via economic and education data in Chinese statistical yearbook,and estimates the contribution of human capital to China' s economic growth by means of effective labor model and human capital externality model.The paper finds that the role of material capital stock is more important and the externality of stock of human capital to economic growth is significant during China's economic growth.
