Abstract

Pot experiments were conducted to investigate the nitrogen uptake and utilization and biomass yield in soybean and maize intercropping or mono culture system. The results showed that the obvious facilitation of nitrogen uptake and biomass was got by intercrop. The nitrogen uptake amount and biomass of intercropped maize increased 57.53% and 47.02% respectively, compared with those monocroped maize, The nitrogen uptake amount and biomass of intercropped soybean were 1.21% and 14.56% lower than those mono soybean.
