Picture Connotation in Meng Haoran's Pastoral Poems

Abstract

Meng Haoran and Wang Wei were the representatives of pastoral poems in the prosperous times of Tang Dynasty, pictures connotated in the poems is the art characteristics of Wang Wei's poem, while the similar characteristics in Meng Haoran's poems is neglected and little attention is paid to this. This article believes that the picture connotation in Meng Haoran's poems is embodied in its blend between feeling and scene, plainness of colors and craftiness of the composition of pictures.
