Abstract

Objective To observe the relationship between the expression of Survivin and VEGF and clinicopathological features in gastric carcinoma tissues.Method The expression of Survivin and VEGF were examined in 56 cases of gastric carcinoma and 47 cases of peri-carcinoma tissues by immunohistochemical SP method. Results The positive rate of Survivin and VEGF were 57.14%,75.00% in gastric cancer, higher than that in peri-carcinoma tissues(P0.01,P0.05).They had a positive relationship(r= 0.738,P0.05).In gastric carcinoma, the positive rates of Survivin and VEGF in the groups with low stage,TNM stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ and lymph node metastases was higher than high stage(P0.01,P0.05),TNM stageⅠ~Ⅱ(P0.05) and non-lymph node metastases(P0.05).Conclusion Survivin and VEGF are associated with the oncogenesis and malignant progression of gastric carcinoma.Effective detection of Survivin and VEGF proteins may contribute to the evaluation of malignancy and prognosis of gastric carcinoma.
