Abstract

As a prominent feature,the application of abundant natural sceneries and metaphorical language in The Rainbow effectively expresses and deepens the theme of the novel.Taking such natural images as the rainbow,the light and darkness,the horse and the moon as examples,this article analyzes their symbolic connotations and explores the modernist symbolic feature of The Rainbow.
