Abstract

Objective To investigate ocular vessel flow velocity in normal persons' eyes by color doppler flow imaging(CDFI).Methods Flow velocity in ophthalmic artery(OA), central retinal artery (CRA) and posterior ciliary artery(PCA) were measured by AU4/dea(USA), and relationship between velocity and affecting factors were analyzed. Results The peak systolic velocity (PSV)end diastotic velocity(EDV) and resistance index(RI) of CRA PCA and OA were(11.48±4.30)cm·s -1 , (4.21±1.28)cm·s -1 ,0.64±0.11; (18.72±8.35)cm·s -1 , (7.54±3.74)cm·s -1 , 0.60±0.06 and (34.32±7.91)cm·s -1 , (11.31±3.13)cm·s -1 , (0.67±0.05) respectively. There were no significant differences in PSV、 EDV and RI、PI between both eyes, and both males and females, and in normal blood pressure. The PSV of OA and PCA had negative correlation with age, the RI of CRA had positive correlation with age, and the hematocrit had positive correlation with PSV and RI of the CRA、PCA and OA.Conclusion The ocular application of CDFI might lay the foundation of a comparatively comprehensive knowledge of the ocular hemodynamics and offer evidences of some eye diseases.
