Abstract

Bilingual deaf education makes the deaf children enjoy real equal educational opportunities. The acquisition of sign language as the first language greatly benefits deaf children's cognitive development, social development and the acquisition of written language as the second language. In bilingual deaf education, the sign language should find its way into the law with linguistic position. And we should also improve the status of deaf teachers and do more sign language training for the parents of deaf children. In addition,we should try to establish our own approach of bilingual deaf education combined with our specific cultural traditions on the basis of borrowing experience of other countries including Denmark and Norway.
