Abstract
An analysis was made on the flood origin and characteristics of Nanliujiang river basin.With three flood prediction schemes including rainfall-runoff prediction,upstream peak discharge synthesis method and instantaneous unit hydrograph,example prediction analysis of typical flood was conducted based on the data from Changle hydrological station on Nanliujiang river.Some countermeasures for flood control are presented including joint flood regulating of reservoir and river,construction of flood forecast system etc.It is put forward that scientific control of flood will be able to reduce the losses caused by flood
