Abstract

This paper mainly discussed the flood series of Shitouhe River from 1954-2008 according to the modern standards.The analysis showed that the present design flood has the increasing tendency compared with the design flood because the flood type of Shitouhe is the storm flood.Based on the annual flood series,the flood of Shitouhe is increasing in accordance with the global warming.The present design flood peak discharge is 12.3% less than the original design flood plus the secure correct value.Therefore,the Shitouhe Reservior can be operated safely at the present stage.
