Abstract
Objective:To observe the effects of Kangshen Granules on renal function, proteinuria and serum albumin of dialysis patients with chronic renal failure(CRF).Methods:A total of 96 patients with chronic renal failure, who were treated in our hospital from January 2007 to October 2010 without dialysis, were included in the present study and randomly divided into two groups. The control group(32 cases) were treated based on routine therapy for CRF,and the treatment group(64 cases) were treated with Kangshen Granules 12 g one time,3 times per day in addition to routine therapy for CRF.Blood urea nitrogen(BUN),blood uric acid(BUA),serum creatinine(Scr),estimated glomerular filtration rate(GFR),serum albumin(ALB) and 24 hours urine protein before and after 3 months of treatment were measured. Results:After 3 months of treatment, compared with before treatment in treatment group,BUN and Scr were decreased [BUN,(11.6±5.0) mmol/L vs(13.6±6.4) mmol/L,P=0.015;Scr,(274.8±158.3) μmol/L vs(316.7±167.3) μmol/L,P=0.004],while GFR was increased [(25.9±17.0) ml/(min·1.73 m2) vs(22.1±13.1) ml/(min·1.73 m2),P=0.003].Compared with control group on BUN,Scr,GFR,there were significant differences in two groups [BUN,(11.6±5.0) mmol/L vs(12.7±5.8) mmol/L,P=0.040;Scr,(274.8±158.3) μmol/L vs(295.0±139.9) μmol/L,P=0.013;GFR,(25.9±17.0) ml/(min·1.73 m2) vs(24.4±15.7) ml/(min·1.73 m2),P=0.033].24 hours urine protein were decreased [(1 177±971) mg/24 h vs(1 824±1 973) mg/24 h,P=0.006] in treatment group[(1 339±710) mg/24 h vs(1 702±1 506) mg/24 h,P=0.012] in the control group.24 hours urine protein of treatment group compared with control group after treatment, there was statistical significance in the two groups [(1 177±971) mg/24 h vs(1 339±710) mg/24 h,P=0.030] After treatment, serum level of albumin of treatment group were increased [(36.8±5.7) g/L vs(34.6±6.1) g/L,P=0.020] in contrdl group, there were still significant differences of these targets except serum albumin level in treatment group as compared with control group after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion:Kangshen Granules may improve renal function, decrease proteinuria, and retard the progress of patients chronic renal failure.
