Expression of Survivin and Its Correlation with Expression of Bcl-2 and P53 in Colorectal Adenocarcinoma

Objective:To study the expression of apoptosis inhibitor protein of Survivin in colorectal adenocarcinoma (CAC)and its correlation with clinicalpathologic parameters and prognosis and to examine the relationship between the Survivin expression and the expression of Bcl-2 and P53 in colorectal adenocarcinoma.Methods:115 cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma, by immnohistochemical staining,were examined survivin,Bcl-2,and P53.The cases were followed up for 5 years.Results: Survivin was detected in 74 of 115 cases(64.3%).No expression of survivin was observed in normal tissues.There was no correlation between Survivin immnoactivity and clinicalpathologic parameters(P＞0.05).Survivin expression was significantly higher in Bcl-2 positive patients than in Bcl-2 negative cases(88.9% versus 42.6%,p＜0.001),but was not associated with P53(P＞0.05). The 5-year survival rate for the padents with survivin positive was siginificantly lower than that for the patients with survivin negative(p=0.001).Conclusions:Examining surviving in CAC tissue is of significance for tumor patients' prognosis and targeted therapy based on antiapoptosis mechanism.
