On the "wide-and-thin" phenomenon in urban road construction and analysis to its disadvantage

Abstract
The wide-and-thin phenomenon is one of the main characteristics in urban road construction in recent years.This road construction model can not meet today social and economic needs.This article analyses four negative effects of the wide-and-thin road construction model,such as the usage of urban land,urban traffic,urban function and the social justice.Relative suggestions have been given on the future urban road construction,including financing in multi-channels,clearly defining the relationship between road levels and road functions,developing the channel traffic and the underground space and adding humanization spirit in the road design.
