Abstract
Objective To investigate the relation between Chlamydia pneumoniae(Cpn) infection and serum levels of blood-fat and C-reactive protein(CRP) in coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods The serum specific antibodies to Cpn IgG were measured by using microimmunofluorescence technique in 35 healthy subjects(control group) and CHD patients, including 35 cases of acute myocardial infarction(AMI group),35 cases of angina pectoris(AP group). The levels of blood-fat and CRP were examined. Results The positive rate of Cpn specific IgG antibody was(82.2%) in AMI group,(65.7%) in AP group and(25.7%) in control group, the patients with AMI,AP had significantly higher positive rate of Cpn IgG than the subjects in control group(P(0.01)).CRP,total cholesterol, triglycerides(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),apolipoprotein A(apoA),apdipoprotein B(apo B) in CHD patients were higher than those in control group(all P(0.01)),while high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) in CHD patients was significantly lower than that in control group(P(0.01)),HDL-C in AMI group was lower than that in AP group(P(0.01)).Cpn IgG is related positively to CRP,TG,LDL-C and apoA,but negatively to HDL-C in CHD patients(r=(-0.78))(all P(0.01)).Conclusion Cpn infection rate significantly increases in CHD patients,Cpn infection may play a role in the pathogenesis of CHD through inflammation and lipid metabolic disturbance.
