Abstract
Tomato(Lycopersicon esculentum) Jinpeng 1 was used to investigate the effects of 1-MCP(1-methylcyclopropene) postharvest treatment on respiration, sugar content, rigidity, vitamin C and acid content of fruit. The results of this study are summarized as follows. The decline of the acid content and vitamin C of fruit treated with 1-MCP was repressed. The respiration rate of fruits was decreased by treatment with 1-MCP.The climacteric peak of respiration was delayed 3 days by exposure to 1-MCP at all concentration. The drop of the rigidity of fruit treated with 1-MCP at concentration 500 nl/L was inhibited.
