Observation of curative effect of chronic advanced congestive heart failure treated by metoprolol

Abstract
Objective To observe the curative effect of metoprolol in the treatment of chronic advanced congestive heart failure.Methods Sixty patients with chronic advanced congestive heart failure in heart function three to four grade were collected.All the patients classified randomly into two groups(treatment group and control group).All cases were treated by anti-heart failure in routine methods for two weeks.Metoprolol was administered in treatment group gradually up to the dosage of 100mg bid in eight weeks,for nine months.Results The curative effect of treatment group was significantly higher than those of control group.Improved in heart function at treatment group,the rate of efficiency were 90.0%,76.7% in treatand control group,P0.05;LVEF increased,LVDd decreased at treatment group(P0.01).Conclusion The curative effect is better for patients with chronic advanced congestive heart failure by metoprolol with routine methods.
