The effects of aripiprazole in the treatment of tic disorder.

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of aripiprazole in the treatment of tic disorder.Methods In this study,86 patients with tic disorder were treated with aripiprazole(5~25mg/d)for the treatment of 8 weeks.YGTSS and TESS were used to assess the efficacy and side effects before the treatment,at the end of 2nd 45th and 8th week after treatment.Results The scores of YGTSS after treatment were significantly lower than those of baseline(P0.05).The scores of TESS at the end of 2nd and 4th week after treatment were significantly higher than the baseline(P0.05),while there was no significant difference between the baseline and the end of treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Aripiprazole is effective and safe for treating patients with tic disorder.
