Returning to the origin and opening up the new: an ontological interpretation on the modernity of ancient Chinese literary theory

One of the important ways to generate the contemporary significance out of the ancient Chinese literary theory,or its transfer from local to universal knowledge,is to re-interpret ancient classics.The interpretation in this sense can no longer be understood methodologically,but ontologically,as stressed by the western hermeneutics.The contemporary significance of the ancient Chinese literary theory can only be generated in the process of the ontological interpretation.The essential notions of the modern hermeneutics in the West went beyond the traditional hermeneutics,forming a fundamental turn from methodology to ontology.This ontological turn corresponds to such issues as individual and the classical texts,the subjects and objects,tradition and modernness,and scientism and humanism,and becomes important referent framework in which we can deepen our research for ancient Chinese literary theory.This ontological interpretation may be regarded as the fundamental path to develop the contemporary value of the ancient Chinese literary theory.
