A Textual Research on "穀" and "谷"

Abstract
As for the relationship between 穀 and 谷 in modern Chinese,many people simply regard 谷 as a simplified character of 穀;谷 has the same pronunciation as 穀,but its word meaning is irrelevant to that of 穀.However,in fact,they are related to each other in word meaning.Under the author's research,it is found that the relationship between 穀 and 谷 is not just simplifying or simplified.Apart from the same pronunciation,穀 and 谷 share a variety of same meanings and usages to a great extent.In other words,they are a pair of synonyms in meaning and usages.
