Abstract
[Objective] To investigate the anti-proliferation effect and apoptosis-inducing effect of quercetin on human hepatocarcinoma BEL-7402 cells.[Method] BEL-7402 cells cultured in vitro, with different concentrations of quercetin treated cells treatment, cell proliferation inhibition rate was detected by APA; BEL-7402 cell shape change observed by light microscopy ; apoptosis rate was detected by flow cytometer.[Result] Quercetin had significantly inhibited proliferation on liver cancer BEL-7402 cells with IC50 value of 4 μg/ml for 72 hours.Typical decreased of cell density were observed by optical microscopy on the quercetin treated cells.Apparent enhancement in apoptosis rate was detected using flow cytometry, after BEL-7402 cells had been exposed to quercetin for 6 hours and 12 hours, respectively.[Conclusion] Quercetin has dose-dependent inhibition effects on proliferation of human hepatocarcinoma cells, and can induce apoptosis of hepatoma cells.
