Abstract

110 strains of endophytic fungi were isolated from roots, stems and leaves of Platycladus orientalis using tissue isolation method.Among them,103 sporulation strains were morphologically classified into 15 genera,6 families,4 orders, while 7 strains didn't produce spores.Alternaria was the dominant genus in the endophytic fungi. The strains and species of endophytic fungi in stems and leaves were much richer than those in roots. The antifungal activities of endophytic fungi against Valsa mali,Elsinoe ampelina,Verticillium dahliae and Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.niveum were tested by dual culture technique. The results indicated that 21 strains(19.1%of the total strains isolated) showed antifungal activities against at least one plant pathogenic fungus tested. The active endophytic fungi belonged to Alternaria, and their antifungal components are worthy being studied.
