Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of dexmedetomidine on preventing cardiovascular response during extubation period in patients with hypertension under general anesthesia.Methods Sixty ASAⅠorⅡpatients with hypertension underwent elective general surgery and gynecological laparoscopy were randomly divided into dexmedetomidine group(group A) and control group(group B),with 30 cases in each group.Group A received dexmedetomidine 0.8 μg/kg via micropumps at 40 minutes before the end of operation.Group B received equal volume of normal saline.Systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),heart rate(HR) and pulse oxygen saturation(SpO2) were recordedat before intubation,before extubation,during extubation,and 1 minute,5 minutes and 10 minutes after extubation.Results Compared with group B,SBP,DBP and HR obviously decreased in group A before extubation,during extubation,and at one minute and 5 minutes after extubation(P0.05).There were no significant differences in SpO2 between the two groups(P﹥0.05).Conclusion Dexmedetomidine was effective on preventing cardiovascular response during extubation period in patients with hypertension under general anesthesia.
