Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical effects of crotisomol paste and zinc oxide-engenol paste after being applied with root canal treatment. Methods 158 patients with pulpits or periapical periodontitis,18-65 years old, were treated with root canal treatment. They were divided into two groups randomly.Root canals of the two different groups were filled with crotisomol paste and zinc oxide-engenol paste respectively. Results The clinical effects were observed for one year. The successful rate of the group with cortisomol paste and the group with zinc oxide-engenol paste were 96.4% and 88.1% respectively. The difference was significant between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion The curative effect of crotisomol paste is significantly better than zinc oxide-engenol paste.Crotisomol paste is safe and reliable.
