Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of remaining bladder irrigation lotion on the recovery of bladder function before removal of the indwelling catheter post-operation of cervical cancer. Methods 80 patients post-operation of cervical cancer (clinical stages fromⅡ_a toⅡ_b) were randomly divided into experimental group and controlled group. Both the two group of patients received the same treatment during the period of indwelling catheter. The patients in the experimental group remained part of the bladder irrigation lotion before removing the Foley catheter, while the patients in controlled group were removed the catheter in routine methods. Results There were 37 cases in experimental group and 30 cases in controlled group could void automaticlly after removed the Foley catheter. There was significant difference in the first-time void smoothly and the qualification rate of residual urine 6~7hs later after removing the catheter between the two group(P0.05).Conclusion For the post-operation patients with cervical cancer, remaining bladder irrigation lotion during the period of indwelling catheter could effectively raise the qualification rate of residual urine and facilitate the recovery of (bladder function.)
