Abstract
The antioxidant properties of yellow pigment from Marigold by supercritical CO2 extraction were evaluated by determination of the anti-lipid oxidation activity and scavenge capacities on superoxide anion radicals and hydroxyl free radicals. The results indicated that the anti-lipid oxidation activity and scavenge capacities on superoxide anion radicals and hydroxyl free radicals were all in correlated with the contents of yellow pigment of Marigold, which was significantly different (one-way ANOVA,P 0.05).The scavenge capacity on superoxide anion radicals(IC50=8 mg/L)was more than 10 times that on hydroxyl free radicals(IC50= 97 mg/L).
