Abstract
The optimum condition of the phase-separation colouring reaction of Zn(Ⅱ) with PAN in the presence of OP are studied. In pH 9.5 buffer medium,the complex can be enriched in OP phase by heating for 30 min at 95 ℃. The maximum absorption of the complex lies at 556 nm. Beer's law is obeyed within 0-0.12 mg/L Zn (Ⅱ)with apparent molar absorptivity of 5.23×105 L(/mol·cm). The proposed method has been applied to the determination of trace zinc in food samples with satisfactory results.
