Analysis on acupoints selection of primary dysmenorrhea treated with acupuncture and moxibustion

Abstract

Objective:To summarize the acupoints rules of primary dysmenorrhea(PD)and provide the basis for selection optimization program of treating PD with acupuncture and moxibustion.Methods:Selecting the articles(from 1989 to 2008) of PD treated by acupuncture and moxibustion methods from China Medical Information Resources System(VIP),the points used in the articles were analyze by statistical methods.Results:The acupoints were mainly located in Ren meridian and spleen meridian of foot Taiyin,and mainly concentrated in the abdomen,lower extremities and back waist.Crossing points were the main acupoints.The single acupoint,Ciliao(BL 32),Sanyinjiao(SP6),Shenque(CV8),Shiqizhui,Diji(SP8),had preliminary study significances.Conclusion:It was very important for making optimization program of treating PD by choosing the crossing points combined in Ren meridian and spleen meridian of foot Taiyin.
