Abstract

Objective:To explore the hereditary susceptibility of people to develop coronary heart disease(CHD) through studying the association of lipoprotein lipase(LPL) gene polymorphisms with CHD and serum lipids.Methods:80 people with CHD were chosen as CHD group and 60 normal people were chosen as the control group. The technique of polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) was used to detect the LPL gene polymorphisms. Results:The level of HDL-C of the subjects with LPL gene of SX type and XX type was significantly higher than those with LPL gene of SS type(P0.05).There were no significant difference of LPL genotype and alleles frequencies between CHD group and control group(P0.05).Conclusion:LPL gene polymorphism is not related with CHD,but the mutation of LPL gene may increased the level of HDL-C.
