Abstract
Objective To find the academic level of papers published in Chinese Journal of Medical Library and Information Science from 2004 to 2008.Methods Papers published in Chinese Journal of Medical Library and Information Science from 2004 to 2008 and their citations,which were retrieved from VIP full-text database of academic or manually collected,were analyzed using Excel.Results Of the 972 papers published in the journal from 2004 to 2008,916 papers cited 4974 papers or books,with a citation rate of 94.24%.Its self citation rate was 12.91%.The average number of citations in each paper was 5.12 and the highest number of citations in each paper was 36.The citations were mainly from journal and books.The Price's index was 73.06% and the half-life was 3.17 years for the papers published in the journal.Conclusion Papers published in Chinese Journal of Medical Library and Information Science from 2004 to 2008,in which the citations are mainly from journals and books,are rather good in novelty,indicating that the journal is one of the important journals in the field of medical library and information science in China.
