Abstract

Xigang,which is the oldest land in the Yancheng area and was formed in the Holocene transgression,is situated in the west of Yancheng.This article studies the affection of the Holocene transgression on the formation of the Xigang ancient seabar,and the law of coastline changes in the middle part of Jiangsu by studing the changes of sealevel,landforms and deposit characteristics and forming conditions of Xigang and so on.
