Abstract
The color reaction of new reagent pchlorobenzenediazoaminoazobenzene (pCBDAA) with cadmium has been studied.The results show that in the presence of TritonX100 and pH10.0 borax buffer solution,the pCBDAA reacts with cadmium to form an orange stable complex with a molar ratio of 2∶1,which has a maximum absorption at 493nm.The molar absorptivity of the complex is 1.21×105L·mol-1·cm-1.Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0~10mg/L Cd(Ⅱ).The method has been applied to determine cadmium trace in waste water with satisfactory results.
