Abstract
Objective To explore l effect of Maimendong decoction on NF-κB and IL-1 expression of lung tissues in a rat model of radiation-induced lung injury.Methods 72 Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups: normal control group,model control group and traditional Chinese medicine group.There were 24 rats in each group.Traditional Chinese medicine group received Maimendong decoction of 2 mL/(200 g·d) ig.Normal control group and model control group received same volume of distilled water.After a week right lung of rats in model group and traditional Chinese medicine group were irradiated by Cobalt-60 radiation therapy machine,twice a week for five weeks.Rats in normal control group were anesthetized without irradiation.Irradiation period,the rats in each group continued to be administered to the end of irradiation.The expression of NF-κB and IL-1 of lung tissues were investigated in 5,12 and 26 weeks after irradiation.Results The expression of NF-κB and IL-1 in model group were obviously increased as compared with those in normal control group in 5,12 and 26 weeks after irradiation(P0.01).The expression of NF-κB and IL-1 in traditional Chinese medicine group were obviously increased as compared with those in model group in 5,12 and 26 weeks after irradiation(P0.01,P0.05).Conclusion Maimendong decoction can decrease NF-κB and IL-1 expression of lung tissues,and show the effect of preventing and treating radiation-induced lung injury.
