Abstract
As one of energy dissipation brace,viscous energy dissipation braces (VEDB) have excellent damping capacity and they can effcctively reduce structural earthquake response.VEDB are installed between two interlayer frame posts to increase the additonal damping ratio and reduce the response under earthquake action.Be combined with one aseismatic practical frame,this paper will have an earthquake dynamic response time-history analysis of the origin and VEDB frame structure.The results of nonlinear time-history analysis verify that the shock absorption ability of VEDB is excellent,which can ensure structure safe greatly.VEDB are applicable for all frames in aseismatic strengthening especially.
