Abstract
With regard to the long-term influence of contention of a hundred schools of thought on Chinese feudal society,scholars have done thorough researches from different perspectives except from that of cultural ecology.The spring and autumn and warring states periods were among major social transitional periods in ancient Chinese history when the economic growth accompanied the political reformation and ideological cultural contention.These three factors were closely interwoven in terms of times and space,thus showing a stable cultural ecology full of characteristics of interrelation and harmonious development.Firstly,technological progress and its inevitable result-economic growth provided material basis for the creation of the new feudal social and economic system.Secondly,the the disintegration of the super structure and the emergence of the contention of a hundred schools of thought laid the foundation for the basic formation of the feudal political system and cultural superstructure in China.And thirdly,the propagation of culture,the popularity of education,and the emergence of the contention of a hundred schools of thought ideologically consolidated the achievements of social transformation whilst providing justification and proposition for the future betterment of feudalism.
