Abstract
According to the working mechanism of mechanical forming, a simulation model for meshing force of gears was devised based on Hertz elastic contact theory, and the meshing process of a pair of gears was simulated in three running situations and their dynamic meshing force responses were calculated. The result showed that the impact load affects the meshing force of gears in a large scale. It has been verified that the method is very applicable to the design of mechanical forming.
