Therapeutic Effect of Nourishing Yin and Clearing Heat Method on Patients with Cough Variant Asthma

Objective:To study the therapeutic effect of nourishing yin and clearing heat method on patients with cough variant asthma(CVA).Methods: 84 patients with CVA in our department were divided into two groups randomly.Patients in the group A were treated with nourishing yin and clearing heat method,the group B were treated with theophylline sustained-release capsules only.The clinical effect,the IFN-y and IL-4 levels,the time of cough relief and disappearance of the two groups were compared.Results:The excellent rate of the group A was 95.24%,which was significantly higher than the group B 78.57%(P0.05);the level of lFN-y or IL-4 level in group A was significantly different before and after treatment,which was also significantly between the two groups after the treatment(P0.01 or 0.05);the time of cough relief and disappearance were significantly different between the two groups(P0.01).Conclusion:Nourishing yin and clearing heat method is a safe and efficient treatment method of patients with CVA,it is worthy of clinical implication.
