Abstract
Aim To investigate the degradation of polypropylene in supercritical water and the degradation products. Methods The reactions were carried out in a batch tube reactor at 430~500℃ and 25~45MPa in 30~120min.Results The products include oil phase, aqueous phase and gases. The chief products, characterized by GC/MS,were aromatic compounds and methane. Conclusion Polypropylene can be degraded completely in supercritical water.A new way for plastic recycle is provided.
