Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of moxibustion on points Fenglong(ST 40) and Zusanli(ST 36) in treating hyperlipemia. Methods Sixty-six patients were randomly allocated to a treatment group of 34 cases, who received moxibustion on points Fenglong and Zusanli and a control group of 32 cases, who took Pravastatin tablets orally.Total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C) and high density lipoprotein-holesterol(HDL-C) were measured in the two groups of patients before and after treatment. Results There were no statistically significant differences in TC and TG regulation and the total efficacy rate between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Moxibustion on points Fenglong and Zusanli has a better regulating effect on blood lipids.
