Abstract
Objective:To establish an RP-HPLC method for the determination of quercetin and kaempferol content in Smilax china L.Methods:The C_(18)column(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm)was used for analysis,methanol -0.5% H_3PO_4(55:45)as mobile phase with detection wavelength 365 nm,1.0 mL·min~(-1)of flow rate and column temper- ature at room temperature.Results:Quercetin and kaempferol showed a good linear curve in the range of 2.97- 29.7 μg·mL~(-1)(r=0.9999)and 3.01-30.1 μg·mL~(-1)(r=0.9999),respectively.The recoveries of quercetin and kaempferol were 98.9% and 99.7%.Conclusion:This simple and reproducible HPLC analysis provided refer- ence to estimate the quality of Smilax china L.The analytical results were reliable and accurate.
