Abstract

Objective:To investigate the current Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection in the Baoji Municipal Central Hospital with lower respiratory infections, and analyze and evaluate the reason of drug-resistance.Methods:A total of 86 bacteria strains isolated in sputum samples from patients with lower respiratory infection in our hospital from July 2007 to December 2007 were collected and analyzed.Gram-positive bacteria,Gram-negative bacteria and fungi were contrasted. The drug-resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was determined. Results:Amongst the 86 bacteria strains,Gram-positive bacteria accounted for 33.7%,Gram-negative bacteria for 45.3% and fungi for 20.9%.The percentage of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection was 14.0% in all of them. The drug-resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was found to the antibiotics, such as ampicillin,ampicillin/sulbactam and cefarozime etc. Conclusion:The percentage of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection in hospital is rather high, and the drug-resistance is very serious, which should be paid more attention in this field, and find out the methods to solve the probloms.
