Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of dictahedral smectite powder combined with ribavirin and cimetidine in treatment of infants with rotavirus enteritis. Methods One hundred and thirty infants with rotavirus enteritis were divided into two groups by digital random table, of which treatment group (65 cases) was treated with ictahedral smectite powder combined with ribavirin and cimetidine, the control group (65 cases) was treated with ribavirin and cimetidine. The clinical effect and the changes of observation index between the two groups were compared. Results The disappear time of coughing, wheezing, crackles and hospitalization time of treatment group were shorter than those in control group. The clinical efficacy rate of the treatment group and the control group were 95.4% (62/65) and 92.3% (60/65) respectively, there were no significant differences between the two groups (P 0.05). The obvious effective rate of the treatment group and the control group were 58.5%(38/65) and 33.8% (22/65) respectively, and the difference was significant (P 0.01). Conclusion Dictahedral smectite powder combined with ribavirin and cimetidine in treatment of infants with rotavirus enteritis can enhance the effect, and have high safety, which can be applied in clinic.
