Abstract
Objective To explore the predisposing factors of angle-closure glaucoma with iris-ciliary body cysts. Methods Thirty-five angle-closure glaucoma patients with iris-ciliary body cysts and 59 cataract patients with iris-ciliary body cysts were enrolled and set as glaucoma group and cataract group. All the patients accepted ultrasound biomicroscopy and A-mode ultrasound examination. Results Two hundreds and two cysts were detected in the 94 patients. The incidence rate of multiple cysts in the glaucoma group(61.9%) was higher than that in the cataract group(42.4%).Iris-ciliary body cysts were usually located in the temporal and inferior, and mostly in the iris-ciliary sulcus and pars plana. The mean diameter of iris-ciliary body cysts of the glaucoma group and cataract group were(0.592 0±0.115 1)mm and(0.466 1±0.094 6)mm,central anterior chamber depth were(2.267±0.123)mm and(2.560±0.214)mm,mean ocular axis length were(23.27±0.85)mm and(24.34±0.42)mm,there were statistical differences(all P0.05).Conclusion The larger and multiple cysts seem to be the predisposing factors of angle-closure glaucoma patients with iris-ciliary body cysts. However, the primary factors of angle-closure glaucoma, such as shallow anterior chamber and nanophthalmos, also take part in the onset.
