Comparison on the effect of LCP,DHS and PFNA in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures

Objective To compare the clinical effect of locking compression plate(LCP),dynamic hip screw(DHS) and proximal femoral nail anti-rotation(PFNA) on intertrochanteric fracture of femur.Methods 94 patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur admitted in our hospital from Mar.2007 to Sep.2010 were treated with LCP(LCP group,n=31),DHS(DHS group,n=32) and PFNA(PFNA,n=31).The operation time,bleeding volume,recovery time,Sander's score were compared between the three groups.Results The bleeding volume of LCP group,DHS group and PFNA group were(341.9±95.2) ml,(462.3±124.8) ml and(190.8±45.6) ml,respectively(P0.05).The recovery time was shorter in PFNA group than LCP and DHS group(P0.05).The operation time of three groups showed no statistically significant difference(P0.05).The excellent rate of Sander's score of PFNA group was 96.8%,which is significantly higher than the other two groups(P0.05).Conclusion PFNA internal fixation is better than LCP and DHS fixation,with simple operation,less bleeding,solid fixation,and fewer complications.
