The Influence of Mu Dan's Poetry Translation on His Later Poetry Writing

This paper makes a comparison between Mu Dan's poetic creation in the first and second halves of his poetic career in the perspectives of poetic theme, poetic image, poetic form, poetic technique, and poetic style in order to reveal how Chinese translation of foreign poetry influenced his later poetic creation. It is concluded that foreign poetry translation is an enormous impetus to the innovation and development of Modern Chinese poetry.
