Abstract

This paper builds on the geological structure and physical characteristics of Jiayi fault zone and presents the study of the rule governing geological structure of the fault zone in Jilin and Heilongjiang section and the rule of control of the eastern part of the coal-oil-bearing basin.The study shows that Jiayi fault zone occurs as a complex structure belt consisting of three-rift basins and sedimentary strata and it forms an important component of the coal-forming period of the Mesozoic fault coal basins and the coal-oil-gas accumulation period of Cenozoic rift basins.Its main basin-control mechanism results from the complex action of fault zone and the ancient tectonic setting.This study provides a scientific basis for further prospect.
