Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effect of montelukast sodium treatment of children cough after infection. Methods One hundred and twenty-five cases of cough after infection patients were divided into treatment group (n = 62) and control group (n = 63) in our hospital, the control group was given loratadine with antibiotic (azithromycin) treated, the treatment group was given loratadine with montelukast sodium treated. The clinical curative effect and VAS score was compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate was 93.5% in treatment group, significantly higher than that of control group (60.3%), the difference was statistically significant between the two groups (χ2 = 8.875, P 0.05). The VAS score before treatment between the two groups had no statistically significant difference (P 0.05); The VAS score period after treatment 1 week in treatment group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant between the two groups (P 0.05). Conclusion The curative effect is distinct in montelukast sodium treatment of children cough after infection, it is worthy of clinical promotion.
